Workforce Scheduling Software

The workforce scheduling features in Standard Time® are currently targeted at projects and tasks.  In other words, the product does not deal with shift schedules, shift requirements, or weekly employee scheduling.  Instead, it is designed to schedule workforce resources on long-term projects.  These projects normally have multiple individuals or teams assigned to them, and they can last several months.  If your teams are assigned to projects, and you have no workforce scheduling software to manage them, consider scheduling a demo.  Or, you can download the software here.  We'd love to talk with you.

Project tasks
The heart of the workforce scheduling software is project tasks.  You can manage as many projects and tasks as you like.  Workforce scheduling consists of assigning employees to tasks, and setting start/finish dates.  Tasks may be assigned to multiple users or entire teams.

Gantt chart, resource allocation chart, calendar
There are three methods of viewing workforce schedules in graphical form.  The first is a Gantt chart, which shows all tasks side-by-side.  Each task displays a bar representing the start and finish dates along with percent complete.

The Allocation chart shows the number of hours allocated to each employee in the workforce.  Red bars are over allocated weeks.  Yellow bars are under, and blue bar are correctly allocated.

A calendar shows all tasks in a 1-month view.  Tasks flow from one day to the next across the calendar.  Employees can view their own tasks while managers can see tasks for all users.

Tracking actual hours
Scheduling workforce hours has little value if you don't track actual hours worked.  Yes, employees know when they should complete tasks and projects, but managers need feedback on their schedules.  They need to know how accurate their plans are, and how far along each project is.  Without this, everything is a guess.  The app offers a nice timesheet for this purpose.  All project tasks show up in employee timesheets, where they enter actual hours worked.  Managers compare these hours against forecasts and adjust schedules accordingly.
