Q & A: Workforce Management Software
This series of questions and answers is intended to help you understand
our workforce management software products. It will discuss the
basics of the tool, giving you a feeling for the product's capabilities.
We hope you'll research it further. You can
download the software onto your own servers,
or sign up for a free personal demonstration.
Q: What does the software do?
A: In a nutshell, we let you create projects representing the
work your employees do. Projects and tasks are displayed on
employee timesheets where they track time to them. Employees
can request time off, which also shows in their timesheet.
There's more, but this is the basics.
Q: How do you manage the workforce?
A: Workforce management is primarily related to projects and
tasks. At the time of this writing, the program does not
manage shift requirements, employee shifts, or daily scheduled
hours. It is strictly focused on projects and tasks, which you
can assign to employees. Workforce management also includes
time off requests, which managers can research and approve.
Employee timesheets show this project time and time off.

Q: How is paid time off handled
A: Employees may submit time off for any reason you have
established. There are defaults, but you can edit them or add
new ones. Each employee has a time off bank for each reason,
and they can accrue more time weekly, monthly, or yearly.
Employees can check their bank, and submit requests for time off.
Managers approve time off, and hours are subtracted from the bank.
Compensatory time (comp time) may be accrued based on extra hours
from the previous week's timesheet.
Q: Does the tool calculate payroll?
A: Yes, payroll is based on timesheet hours. Each employee
is responsible to fill out their weekly timesheet, which can be used
to calculate payroll. The software also has the ability to
calculate client billing rates for each project based on employee
work.
