Q & A: Web Timesheet
Welcome! You've landed here as a result of your search for Web
Timesheet software. The brief Q & A below helps give an overview
of Standard Time, our web-based timesheet product. We hope you
find it interesting. And, feel free to
download a copy now!
Q: Is the Standard Time Web Timesheet simple?
A: Yes. As the screenshot below shows, the Standard Time
web-based timesheet only shows projects, tasks, and daily slots for
employee time. That's it. Employees simply find the
appropriate project and task, and then enter their hours. No
dropdowns and multiple choices to mess up with. Isn't that
simple?
Q: Is it easy to set up?
A: Sort of. Now we're getting into the administrative
aspects of the product. To set up a web timesheet for your
employees, you must first add a new project, and then add some tasks
to it. That can usually be done in about an hour. If you
have lots of projects and tasks, it may take a day. But you
should start simple, with just one project.
Q: Can I see my employees timesheets?
A: Yes, very easily. Just click on the employee name in
the tree at the left. When you do, you'll see that employee's
weekly timesheet. You can make changes, or enter time on their
behalf. You can also run reports to show all employee time.

Q: Are the hours totaled up?
A: Yes, you will see several totals. Daily totals show how
many hours were spent today. Weekly totals show the time for the
entire week. Project and Task hours break time down by job.
This is all automatic.
Q: How do I deploy the web timesheet?
A: Normally, your IT department will handle that. Standard
Time for the Web is installed onto a Microsoft IIS web server. It
uses SQL Express or SQL Server as a backend database. The web time
sheet connects to the shared SQL database so you can view employee time
and run reports. Standard Time for Windows connects to the same
database. This gives you multiple platforms to choose from.
Q: Is it expensive
A: No. It's actually cheaper than manually filling out Excel
spreadsheets. Why? Because each employee checks his/her own
timesheet to ensure accuracy. Managers are no longer a bottleneck
for manually entering weekly hours.
We invite you to download a copy of Standard Time. You can start
