Resource Allocation within Standard Time®
Resource allocation is an advanced concept that many people will not need to use. Resource allocation allows you to allocate the time that your employees work in a smart way. For instance, if tasks were scheduled for one of your employees that caused him to work 90 hours each week, you'd want to know that. Standard Time shows you this information in an easy to use window. See the screenshot below for a sample.
Scheduling Tasks
Each task within Standard Time may be scheduled for work on a given day. When you schedule tasks, there is a possibility that two tasks may be scheduled for the same day. This could make it impossible to perform the tasks. The only way to know if this is the case is to look at a chart that shows all the time scheduled. This is a resource allocation chart.
What are the bars?
Each bar in the resource allocation chart shows how much time has been scheduled for that time period. If the time period is "1 week," then you would expect the bars to show about 40 hours. If they show 80 hours, somebody doesn't get to go home at 5! If they show fewer hours, then the person may be idle, and not properly utilized.
