What do you need in Resource Management software?
Let us help with the issues...
Standard Time® provides a cluster of features supporting resource
management, project tracking, and general project management. This
means you can create projects and tasks, and assign resources to them.
We help you manage projects and resources as you track actual hours in
employee timesheets. The resource allocation dialog below is an
example. Feel free to browse the Q & A topics below, and
download a copy.
Q: Do you need project tasks?
A: Does your organization track the status of projects and
tasks? If so, try the project tasks tab. It allows you
to create projects and tasks hierarchies. You can assign
resources to tasks, which allows them to view tasks in the
timesheet.
Q: Do you assign resources to tasks?
A: Resource management involves task assignment, task
scheduling, and resource allocation. If you assign resources
to tasks, you can manage when those tasks start, how long they are
expected to take, and how many projects a resource is assigned to.
You can even assign entire groups to tasks.
Q: Do you manage resource task times?
A: In other words, resource allocation. The dialog below
helps manage resources who may be assigned to many projects and
tasks. It lets you see how many project hours they are
expected to work each week, month, quarter. If you assign too
much, you see a red bar. If you assign too little, the bars
are yellow. Correct hours are blue.

Resource Management
Q: Do you track actual project hours?
A: This is not just a resource management tool, but some use it
for just that purpose. But... A timesheet is also included to
permit employees to enter actual project hours. These resource
hours can be used for many purposes, and comparing forecasts to
actual hours is big. The program displays forecasts, actual
hours, and percent complete right next to each other.
Q: Do you track weekly hours, overtime, or time off?
A: Does your resource management include tracking weekly hours
for each employee, and the overtime they put in? How about
tracking employee time off, such as vacation, sick leave, comp time,
etc? If so, we support all these. You can view a chart
showing weekly project hours and overtime. Employees can even
enter time off requests, which are displayed in their timesheet
along with project hours.
We hope this has increased your awareness of resource management
tools. This important tool should be a resource in your
organization. Feel free to contact
