It is impossible to highlight all the neat consulting features in one video! So we made another, and here it is!

In the last video we showed the timesheet, which everything centers around and the time log. Those two views actually show the same data – the time log records, which are integral to consulting companies. Each one has a client billing rate and hours which are used to calculate the cost to the client. But surprisingly, we didn’t show the invoicing features! We rectified that here. The previous “Part 1” video focused on billing rates, project revenue, and consulting reports like the utilization report. There are other videos showing  those in detail.

In this video we created a new invoice, which you can use to bill client. All your time and expenses are scooped up into one RTF document that can be opened and edited in Microsoft Word. All records are then marked as billed so you know which ones have been invoiced.

But some consulting companies don’t want to use the built-in invoicing; they use QuickBooks as their Accounts Receivables. Great! Simply choose Tools,  QuickBooks, Export Time. All your records go into the Employee Timesheets where you can pay employees or bill clients – all essential things for contractors. So ultimately, you have the choice… Internal invoicing or QuickBooks. They both  work great!

After invoicing, we looked at the Project Task tab and showed the task  breakdowns that included “Cost Client” and “Cost Client Actual” and percent complete. You get a full task hierarchy, which shows up in the timesheet where  you can enter time or start and stop timers. As you work on tasks, just click, click, click your way through the day. Your time will accumulate in the timesheet and be ready for client invoicing.

That’s cool!!!

But even consultants take time off, so we include a full PTO system that accrues hours periodically so you can request time off, have those requests approved by management, and then subtracted from your bank of hours. You even know how much you have available and how much you’ll earn in the coming months.

As you can see, this product is more than simple timekeeping for client billing.  It handles every aspect of the consulting business. That’s because we have a lot of customers demanding new features all the time. We listen to everyone from the big bosses on down to individual one-man shops. In doing so, we have built a wide range of features that work smoothly.

This is the consultant’s dream!
