Organize projects in the timesheet by client or folder
How to organize timesheet projects by client or folder
To organize projects in the timesheet, click the little gray button at the top-left corner of the timesheet. A menu will appear. Choose Group Projects. You can then choose the ways to organize your projects.
Organize by Client
When you choose to group projects by Client, the timesheet will first display all the clients that have projects under them. It will then list all the projects that are not assigned to a client. In this mode, the timesheet continues to work as it did before. You simply open a client to view the projects under it. Opening a project reveals the tasks.
Some projects may not be assigned to a client. Those are displayed after the list of clients in the timesheet.
Organize by Folder
When grouping projects by Folder, the timesheet first displays all the folders that have projects under them. It then displays the projects that are not in any folder. Just as with clients, you simply open a folder to see the projects, and then open the project to see the tasks.
Depending on the folder structure, you may see subfolders under a main folder, and then see projects under those subfolders.
You may wonder how to create folders for projects. To create folders, choose Tools, Projects. Click the new Tools menu in that new window and choose New Folder. Once created, you can click and drag a project into the new folder. Press OK to see the new folder in the timesheet.
Folders are optional, but useful for organization.
