The web-based version of Standard Time may be installed onto Windows 2000 and XP systems that are running IIS. The installer is an ordinary InstallShield Windows 2000 installer. After installing IIS and the Microsoft .NET Framework onto your web server, you should follow these simple steps below to enable access to a shared database for all your users. The evaluation offers a 30-day trial period, so you should follow these instructions immediately after installation to obtain as much evaluation time as possible. Instructions for downloading and installing Standard Time for the Web are included below. You will need a special license code to use Standard Time with multiple users. You can obtain a free temporary code if you are evaluating the product.

Download and install Standard Time for Windows.
The Windows-based version of Standard Time is currently necessary to administer certain aspects of the database. It does not need to be installed onto your web server. It can access the database across the LAN.

Set up your database for multi-user access.
Standard Time for the Web requires SQL Server for the database. (This need not be installed onto your web server A separate database server machine may be used).

Each user who will access the system must be added to the database.

Download and install Standard Time for the Web.
The web-based version of Standard Time installs IIS virtual directories, and all the files necessary for client access. No software need be installed onto client machines Access is provided through Microsoft Internet Explorer. IE 6.0 or greater is recommended.

Set up Web.config to access the database.
Standard Time for the Web uses a file named Web.config for access to the database. This is a text file and may be edited with Notepad.

Launch Standard Time for the Web.
Finally, simply launch the web-based version of Standard Time from any client browser.

Additional web server issues and problems:
Crystal Reports
You must grant write access to the ASPNET user to the folder: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Crystal Reports\Viewers\dynamic_images" or you won't be able to view reports that include graphs. Crystal Reports uses this folder to store temporary image files during reporting. On Windows Server 2003 you may also need to create a folder named "dynamic_images" under c:\windows\system32\inetsvr and grant write access the the ASPNET user.

Crystal Reports may generate a "Query Engine" error if the following files are not in the system directory.
- msvci70.dll
- msvcp70.dll
- msvcr70.dll
You may need to copy these files from c:\ to your system32 directory.
HTML code is displayed instead of Standard Time application
This can happen if your IIS mappings for ASP.NET need to be repaired. Running the aspnet registration app will updated these mappings. The command below will update them.
"%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\version\aspnet_regiis.exe" -i.
