Standard Time Export IIF Timer file

You can optionally export a QuickBooks Timer file from within Standard Time.  This is not necessary if you use the Standard Time Integration Options to set up QuickBooks integration.

Necessary in some cases:
Large organization often use this option to help control the export process.  It is a manual operation, but more controlled.  This option is also necessary when using Standard Time for the Web because the web browser cannot export files to QuickBooks.


1) From within Standard Time, choose File, Export.

2) Change the "Save As Type" to "QuickBooks IIF (*.iif)".

3) Enter a file name, and click Save to save the Timer File.

Important
The File Open dialog appears immediately after you choose to save the Timer file.  This dialog is prompting you to locate the QuickBooks IIF List file that was exported from QuickBooks.  Standard Time needs this file to complete the save operation.  It takes information from this List file and includes it in the Timer file that it saves.

4) Choose the List file that you exported earlier from QuickBooks, and click Open.  The following Export dialog appears.







5) Click "Assign users to employees" button.  This provides a mapping from Standard Time users to QuickBooks employees.  The following dialog appears.  Assign each Standard Time user to a QuickBooks employee, and check each employee that you wish to include in the Timer file.





6) Click OK to export the Timer file.  Standard Time opens the Timer file in Notepad to display its contents.






You may now import this Timer file into QuickBooks.  Choose File, Timer, Import Activities from Timer.
